Magic Confetti Poem

So sorry I haven't blogged in a while! The beginning of pre-k is always EXHAUSTING!!! And the hurricane here in Louisiana didn't help things!!! We were off of school for 2 days! I am blessed that my home fared well.  I wanted to share a poem with you that I gave to my parents on our first meeting of the year the day before the kids came to school.  I also read this poem with my little girl and she thought it was the best thing since sliced bread!!!  I do not take credit for the poem, I just retyped it! I bought party confetti from the dollar store and put it in the tiny Ziploc bags and stapled it to the back of this poem I ran off on card stock! Click on the picture if you would like it!!! I have an owl theme in my classroom this year and just thought these owls were a "hoot"!!! We talked about "circles" and then cut some out for the owls eyes! Finished it off with a "triangle" nose!

Who says teaching common core can't be "cute"!!!



Twas the Night Before School Started

I have been testing away in Pre-K! On Monday I get my first half of kids! Excited to begin a new year! I had such a WONDERFUL class last year! We used this for our Open House last week! I thought it was too cute! Click if you want it! Best of luck to everyone beginning this week!

Healthy Snacks

How do you incorporate snacks into your day?  I have a different child bring in snack everyday and we rotate using a snack calendar! This year our district is requiring "healthy snacks"! Listening Ears

Whew!!! I have been in two days of NON-STOP meetings!!! A lot of changes in Louisiana education! I need a big time brain break! I love love Pinterest and saw this idea I thought I would share with all of you! How funny is this! I think even parents would appreciate a good pair of these.....I linked the picture back to the blog!



Smart Apps for KIDS

Have you seen this website? WOW! If you are fortunate enough to have an IPad in your classroom this website is a GREAT resource!  I have 2 Ipads for my pre-k class of 20 and it is THE MOST POPULAR Center in the classroom! Go and check it out!



First Day in Pre-K

 

Happy Friday! I cannot believe that it is my LAST FRIDAY OFF for the summer! Yep, I head back to work Monday! I wanted to share something with for the beginning of the school year! I made these headbands last year and the kiddos wore them home on the FIRST DAY OF PRE K! I thought they looked sooo cute! Anyway, I'm including a freebie in case you like them too! I just printed them onto card stock and laminated them.  I used left over border that I had hanging around my classroom to make the band part! Enjoy click here for freebie!

I love Bulletin Boards! I used the idea for the tree from pinterest! The owls are from Carson Dellosa Colorful Owl Welcome Set! I have HUGE bulletin boards in my room to fill! I will share more with you in the upcoming weeks!
