Changes, Changes, Changes

Happy Fall!

Sometimes you come across kids with special needs who teach us how to be better people!  I have been off of the grid and working on "ME".  I went back to school and got my master's in Special Education and my early interventionist certification.  This is my second year teaching pre-k special education and it has shifted my universe!  I have had to relearn, adapt and love creating and teaching along the spectrum of diversity.  I would not be telling the truth if I said it wasn't challenging and someday it's exhausting.....but the reality is I'm a better person because of these unique and wonderfully made little ones and I'm excited to share my new journey with all of you! I will try to do better posting and sharing along the way!

SENSORY BOTTLES.....DONE!

It was time to spruce up my sensory bottles so I went out in search of MOTION POWDER!!! And I found it! It is super cool and calming to look at! It really is super neat! I bought Pearl Ex powder at Hobby Lobby and here they are! You put a heaping tablespoon into each bottle add water, food coloring, and just like that I made my motion bottles! I like to have these available for the first few days of school when we are exploring in the room!

Magic Confetti Poem

So sorry I haven't blogged in a while! The beginning of pre-k is always EXHAUSTING!!! And the hurricane here in Louisiana didn't help things!!! We were off of school for 2 days! I am blessed that my home fared well.  I wanted to share a poem with you that I gave to my parents on our first meeting of the year the day before the kids came to school.  I also read this poem with my little girl and she thought it was the best thing since sliced bread!!!  I do not take credit for the poem, I just retyped it! I bought party confetti from the dollar store and put it in the tiny Ziploc bags and stapled it to the back of this poem I ran off on card stock! Click on the picture if you would like it!!! Enjoy!

HOOT HOOT HOORAY HAPPY FIRST DAY

HOOT HOOT HOORAY
HAPPY FIRST DAY!!!

I have an owl theme in my classroom this year and just thought these owls were a "hoot"!!! We talked about "circles" and then cut some out for the owls eyes! Finished it off with a "triangle" nose!
Who says teaching common core can't be "cute"!!!

I am sharing my list with all of you! I would love to hear about snack time in your classroom! Please feel free to leave me comments and share with me! I would love to add more to the list!  Click here if you would like it!
